Miracle catches and catchers

Denver Bronco’s receiver  Brandon Stokley’s amazing catch catch on the opening day of the NFL season brings to mind some great catches over the years.  The announcer calling Stokley’s grab said it reminded him of  John Mackey’s deflected catch (he’s number 88)  in Super Bowl V.  I could hardly remember this play, but the it got my attention since I was a big Baltimore Colts fan as a kid.

The Colts had some great players on the receiving end of the passes thrown by Johnny Unitas. They include Raymond Berry and Jimmy Orr.  Berry was known for his precise routes and Orr had his own corner of the end zone named after him.

Here’s the greatest NFL catches that came immediately to mind.
